When you are in fear, you are never in the present, so you cannot breath and fully receive what God has for you in the present, the now. Your mind is in the future and you are hooked in to your past experiences. Because you are not in the present you cannot actually live with the God who is I AM. And because you are afraid you try to control, it’s called torment.
Fear is reasoning, the contrary of fear is a heart to heart relationship of love. There is a principal that is worth remembering, that should be taken hold of before anything else is established in your soul in it’s place or that a problem arises: He is for me not against me and He is with me all the time. When I focus on that, it is not about reasoning, it is about the heart of God for me and my heart is reassured.
It is such a struggle to reconnect to God when you have fear because you have to decide to stop reasoning and somehow reconnect with God’s love for you and reconnect your heart towards Him. For that you need the Holy Spirit because fear is a spirit and it is not with reasoning, principles or methods that you can get out of fear but it’s with the Holy Spirit.
Remind yourself that God is with you and for you all the time. Whatever happens, whether you go through death, hell, torment or anything else, remind yourself constantly that He is for you and with you. It is not about avoiding pain, it is about going through things with Him. It is hard to accept that you will go through things that are difficult but remind yourself that God is with you and for you. If you die He can resurrect you, what is there to fear. Being free of fear is not the absence of a feeling of fear, it is not being dominated by it. In some ways, it is like being tempted, we are tempted but we don’t give in to it, fear is the temptation to not believe!
Though this may be helpful for those who need to simply grow in faith, some people who are bound by a spirit of fear or trauma may need deliverance and will find it very hard to work with just applying a spiritual principal, they need the power of the Holy Spirit to be set free in that area. Don’t let guilt be any part of your journey to freedom, guilt and condemnation are the demonic counterfeit of conviction and repentance, ignore them. Guilt and condemnation will only isolate you, that’s what they’re “paid” to do.
Jesus is king, may His Spirit and power come upon you and suck you up into an empowering, freedom giving, life changing, peace bringing, healing dispensing Holy vortex. You are the blessed of the Lord and the loved of God :-).
